Organizational plan to address influx of patients

The Public Health Department in Sentinel City is requesting assistance from IPC nurses to develop an organizational plan to address the influx of patients with your chosen communicable disease. Develop an organizational plan to address the influx of patients with the communicable disease considering the demographics of the area chosen.  In your plan provide an overview of the disease – how it is monitored, prevented or controlled along with other important facts about infection control measures that you have gleaned from readings and websites. Address infection prevention and control evidence-based approaches to antimicrobial stewardship as applicable. Utilize regulations from the CDC, WHO or other reputable sources.  Include personnel needed to manage the influx, and any features in the area that may positively or negatively impact the execution of your plan.

If you are working in another area of nursing practice such as occupational health, cruise ship industry, long-term care, school nursing, physician’s office, or residential facility – With a specific focus on your environment, develop an organizational plan to address the influx of employees/passengers/residents/students/patients (as applicable) with your chosen communicable disease. Mention some details of the most common demographics of the population you serve who may be affected by the disease.

In your organizational plan provide an overview of the disease – how it is monitored, prevented or controlled along with other important facts about infection control measures that you have gleaned from readings and websites. Consider demographics in your plan. Address infection prevention and control evidence-based approaches to antimicrobial stewardship as applicable. Utilize regulations from the CDC, WHO, global health policies or other reputable sources.  Include personnel needed to manage the influx, and any features in the workplace and/or environment that may positively or negatively impact the execution of your plan.
