This week, we’ll be putting our diagnostic skills to the test! Think about a patient with a GI, Endo, Skin, or Heme problem.
- Create a Case Scenario: Briefly describe a patient (real or fictional) with their presenting symptoms, describe subjective, objective and assessment information.
- Omit the Diagnosis: Don’t reveal the diagnosis in your post.
- Challenge your peers: Encourage your classmates to analyze the case and propose potential diagnoses based on the information provided and plan of care.
Instructions for Response Post:
- (2 Peer Responses) Discussion and Learning: Respond to your classmates’ by providing the accurate diagnosis, provide additional details such as treatment, education for having health promotion or clarifying information as needed. Your Peer will provide you with the correct answer.
- Peer Response: Respond to a student that does not have a response already. If all have a response, respond to a student that only has one response.
Submission Instructions:
- The paper is to be clear and concise, and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation and misspelling.
- The paper is to be 1 page in length, write a mini-SOAP note.
- Peer response: Incorporate current practice guidelines for diagnosis and treatment and a minimum of 4 current (published within the last five years) scholarly journal articles or primary legal sources (statutes, court opinions) within your work. Journal articles and books should be referenced according to APA style (the library has a copy of the APA Manual).
- Complete and submit by 11:59 PM ET Sunday.
