After looking at  McNeil Elementary menu (Houston ISD) and Baker Montessori Elementary menu (Lamar ISD) – These are Texas elementary schools. Breakfast and Lunch menus for BOTH schools are attached below.

Create 2 Samples Menu (20 points/20%)

Create a single day’s replacement menu for elementary students providing healthier choices for EACH MENU analyzed, including the following:

  1. Breakfast, lunch, and DINNER options. (1 SLIDE)
  2. Age considerations, potential health concerns, cultural influences, and regional patterns. (1 SLIDE)
  3. Nutritional components of your food choices. (1 SLIDE)
  4. Explanation of why the sample menus are better nutritional options for both facilities. (1 SLIDE)
  5. 2 reference citations that support your choices included on the slide or in the speaker’s notes

MUST have speaker notes (to avoid overcrowding of slides and communicate content). –

At least four to six (4-6) scholarly, nursing, peer reviewed, primary sources from the last 5 years, excluding the textbook, are provided.
